On Monday, April 11, Representative Luis Terrazas met with voters at Arby’s.

When asked why he ran for office in 2020, Terrazas replied, “I was tired of what was going on around me. There was also talk of closing the mines, which would have devastated our economy. Also, I didn’t think Rudy Martinez shared our values of family, hard work, and patriotism.”

He went on to discuss what happened up in Santa Fe in the 2022 legislative session. “I worked with Rebecca Dow and other legislators from across the aisle to obtain funding for Grant County. The governor originally vetoed this money, but then we were able to secure it in the special session.” He listed the projects:

Bataan Memorial Park - $160,000 Fort Bayard - $70,000 for maintenance and repair of roads. Memory Lane - $100,000 for erosion control and landscaping. Sheriff’s Department - $60,000 for new police car and equipment. Western New Mexico University - $200,000 for athletic department and $50,000 for Early Childhood Mental Health.

Representative Terrazas is always willing to help a constituent sort out a state problem. He can be contacted at luis.terrazas@nmlegis.gov.
